The AQHRA was re-incorporated under the Societies Act of the Province of Alberta in 1984. Our mandate is to foster the promotion, development and breeding of Quarter Horses and to promote the sport of Quarter Horse racing throughout the province of Alberta. Inaugurated in 1968, Quarter Horses have been competing in Alberta since 1957, beginning at the Millarville racetrack.
